Synthesis and characterization of nanocrystalline spinel Zinc ferrite prepared by sol-gel auto-combustion technique
Authors
Abstract:
Sol–gel auto-combustion is a unique combination of the combustion and the chemical gelation processes. In this work, nanosize (d) powders with compositions of ZnFe2O4 were synthesized by sol–gel combustion method. The puffy, porous brown powders as-combusted was calcined at the temperature of 750–1000◦C for 4 h. These powders are characterized by X-ray diffraction and scanning electron microscopy. Particle size and morphology of nanocrystalline were determined by XRD and SEM, respectively. The average particle size was estimated about 17 nm for calcined powders. Surface area for zinc ferrite synthesized by this method is 36 m2/g.

full textEffect of pH on nanocrystalline Co-ferrite prepared using urea and thiourea fuels by combination of sol-gel auto combustion and ultrasonic irradiation methods
The aim of this study is to evaluate the influence of pH on the synthesis of nanocrystallines cobalt ferrite by combination of sol- gel auto combustion and ultrasonic irradiation methods. Two different fuels, urea and thiourea, along with metal nitrates (oxidant) were used to prepare CoFe2O4 powders. The morphology of the resulting powders was investigated. The powders wer...

full textPreparation and Characterization of Nickel and Copper Ferrite Nanoparticles by Sol-Gel Auto-Combustion Method
Ferrites with spinel structure are the most widespread materials in radio engineering, electronics and communication industry, microwave devices and computer facilities. The change of synthesis temperature of ferrites results in cation redistribution of iron, which updates crystal properties, as macroscopic magnetic properties of ferrites. Among this extensive class of compounds nickel and copp...
full textProduction of Sr-Ferrite Sub-Micron Powder by Conventional and Sol-Gel Auto-Combustion Methods
Magnetic powder of Sr-ferrite was prepared by conventional and sol-gel auto-combustion methods. In conventional method, strontium carbonate and ferric oxide powders were mixed together and then mixture was calcined. In sol-gel auto-combustion method, a solution containing strontium nitrate, ferric nitrate and citric acid was heated until the combustion took place automatically; then, as-burnt p...
